Midwest payer moves once-weekly GLP-1 to preferred

Big news in the Midwest yesterday: a large regional payer moved a once-weekly GLP-1 to a preferred tier, lowering copays and easing prior auth for appropriate candidates. We’re partnering with clinic and pharmacy teams on onboarding and adherence resources to support HCPs and patients; any serious symptoms or emergencies should be directed to a licensed professional.

And we sped starts by rolling out a shared EHR smart phrase plus a pharmacy test-claim script so clinics can verify preferred-tier copays in-room; small caveat: we saw a 48–72 hr adjudication lag in week one — anyone else? > HCPs and patients; any serious symptoms or emergencies should be directed to a licensed — Agreed, and we route anything urgent straight back to the care team.
