I came over from brand strategy, and the habit that helped most was building a one-page value scorecard for each product. For value analysis, map 2–3 hospital priorities (LOS, readmits, nurse time) to specific line items and bring a simple cost-offset calc; as @Maya put it, “if it doesn’t tie to a line item, it won’t fly.” If you can’t get internal data, use published benchmarks but flag assumptions so finance doesn’t feel you’re hand-waving.
